Community weighted mean
From IAI CRN 2015
Overview
The community-weighted mean (CWM) trait value is an indicator of functional biodiversity. It reflects the "average" trait value of dominant species in a community.
Calculating CWM
CWM is calculated as the sum, for i to n of Pi*Traiti where pi is the relative contribution of species i to the community, and traiti is the trait value of species i. The total number of species included in the calculation is "n".
Generally, "n" is the number of species required to reach a cumulated relative abundance of 80% of total abundance.
